Our Love Story

It all started more than 40 years ago…
Grade 4 pa lang kami when Rey transferred to our school and became my classmate until Grade 6. Sabi niya, from the very first moment he saw me, he already knew I was “the one", but for me there's no such things like that dahil focus ako sa aking pag aaral and ang routine ko lang nun bahay school. And he doesnt attempt to tell me that he like me.
After graduation ng elementary we parted our ways, I went to Cabanatuan for high school and college, then eventually worked in Manila. Years passed…
After 12 years, nagkita ulit kami sa barangay gym during Holy Week. Isa siya sa mga basketball players noon—and that’s when our love story truly began. Sabi ko nga, it’s destiny. Parang lyrics ng favorite song:
“That I was born for you
It was written in the stars
Yes, I was born for you
And the choice was never ours…”
We never really know who is meant for us—only God knows. He is my first and last boyfriend… kaya lucky siya
On September 8, 2001, we got married. Now, 25 years later, we are still here—stronger, wiser, and full of memories. Like any couple, we faced challenges and made many adjustments, but we chose to stay, to love, and to grow together.
Today, we are partners not just in life but also in business. We run our restaurant, Bayleaf Restaurant in Santo Domingo, Nueva Ecija—ako ang in charge sa financial and marketing side as an accountant, while my husband leads the kitchen as a chef. Aside from this, we also manage other businesses—my business consultancy and events company, and his bukid and breeding farm.
As a busy couple, we still make time to enjoy life. We dance Zumba together (as proud ZINs ), create TikTok videos, travel, and simply enjoy every moment as partners and best friends.
Even though we don’t have biological children, we are blessed with two girls, AJ and Jenel, who are now teenagers. We hope they will continue to take care of us as we grow older—but honestly, even now in our 50s, they already do. Nakakatuwa kasi baliktad na—sila na ang nag-aalaga sa amin, especially during our Zumba events.
Life now is simple but joyful.
We continue to pray that the Lord will guide us, protect us, give us strength, and keep us healthy—so we can walk this journey together until the end of time.
After all these years, I still believe… it was destiny.
